Description

This grinder sandwich recipe is a viral favorite made with crusty rolls, Italian deli meats, melty provolone, and a tangy grinder salad. Perfectly toasted and layered with bold flavor, it’s a satisfying sandwich you can easily make at home.


Ingredients

– 3 sub rolls or hoagie rolls  

– 1/4 lb salami  

– 1/4 lb pepperoni  

– 1/4 lb smoked turkey  

– 1/4 lb provolone cheese, sliced  

– 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese  

– 1 tomato, sliced  

– 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, shredded  

– 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced  

– 1/3 cup banana peppers, sliced  

– 1/2 cup mayonnaise  

– 1 tbsp red wine vinegar  

– 1 tsp garlic powder  

– 1 tsp dried oregano  

– 1/2 tsp salt  

– Black pepper to taste  


Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.  

2. Add shredded iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced red onion, and banana peppers to the bowl. Mix well to coat everything in the dressing. Set aside.  

3. Slice open the sub rolls and lay them flat on a baking sheet.  

4. Evenly layer the salami, pepperoni, and smoked turkey across each roll.  

5. Top the meat with provolone cheese slices.  

6. Broil the sandwiches for 2–3 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread are crispy.  

7. Remove the sandwiches from the oven and place sliced tomatoes on top of the melted cheese.  

8. Add a generous scoop of grinder salad to each sandwich.  

9. Sprinkle grated parmesan over the salad layer.  

10. Close the sandwiches, slice in half, and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
